Aged Care and Community Services Forum

Mercy Partners Council invites aged care and community services leaders to participate in a forum which will focus on drivers and trends in the aged care and community services sectors, and collaboratively address the integration of mission and strategy.

Keynotes

Nick Mersiades, CHA

Nick Mersiades, Director of Aged Care, Catholic Health Australia

Nick has extensive experience in aged and health care, including 16 years in the Department of Health and Ageing. As well as roles as manager of the Department’s Queensland and New South Wales state offices, Nick’s most recent role in the Department was head of the Ageing and Aged Care Division, where he was responsible for the development of aged care policy and for the overall management of the Australian Government’s residential and community aged care programs.

Joe Zabar, CSSA

Joe Zabar, Senior Director, Catholic Social Services Australia

Joe has more than 25 years of experience spanning the government and NFP sectors in areas such advocacy, marketing and fundraising, human resources and business management. His extensive social services advocacy and policy expertise is well recognised across government circles which has resulted in his appointment to a number of Government and advisory bodies over his career. In July 2016 Joe was appointed as the inaugural Community Chair of the ATO’s NFP Stewardship Group.

Mark Henley, CSSS

Mark Henley, CEO, Queensland Council of Social Services

Mark has 28 years of experience in the community services sector and is committed to creating responsive services, along with independence, dignity and better outcomes for all people. He is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Deputy Chair of the Queensland Plan Ambassadors Council; Board Director Brisbane North PHN and is also Chair of the Brisbane North PHN Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee.
