Feast Days

Mercy DayFeast of Our Lady of Mercy

Mercy Day is the feast day of the Sisters of Mercy across the world. It is celebrated each year on 24 September, the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy.

Venerable Catherine McAuley placed her community under the patronage of Our Lady of Mercy because Mary is the one who has the deepest knowledge of the mystery of God's mercy. Catherine sought to bring the mercy of God the Father to all those in need.

Mercy Day is a special day of celebration and an opportunity for all Mercy Sisters, their associates, and partners in ministry to celebrate and rejoice with Mary, the Mother of Mercy.

Our newsletter, MercyPartnersNEWS, always contains articles about how our different ministries celebrate Mercy Day.

The website of Mercy International Association provides a wealth of inspirational Mercy quotes.
