Mercy Partners Theological Framework
The Theological Framework is significant because it marks a moment in time – a crystallisation of the many hours of thinking, dialogue and writing that have occurred over the last eight years to come to a deep understanding of Mercy Partners as a gift of the Holy Spirit to the world.
Since its establishment by the Holy See in 2008, and the first meeting of the Council in 2010, there has been an evolving and growing understanding of what it means to be ‘Mercy Partners’.
Commissioned by the Council in 2014, the Theological Framework was written by Australian theologian Dr Christiaan Jacobs-Vandegeer in consultation with the Council. In 2016 the document received the Imprimatur of the Archbishop of Brisbane, Most Reverend Mark Coleridge and the Council subsequently spent considerable time reflecting on the document and its distribution.

Dipping into Mercy Partners Theological Framework
A series of short reflections has been created to help our ministries dip their toes into the key ideas of the Theological Framework – mercy, growing partnership, values. These concepts underpin the Theological Framework introduction and are explored in greater depth in the document as a whole. Please feel free to use these during reflections in board and executive meetings as a way of opening up the Theological Framework in your organisation.
