The Chair of Mercy Partners Board attended the annual Five Loaves, Two Fishes dinner organised by Catholic Health Australia. The dinner is a gathering of the leadership of various Catholic ministries from across Queensland and Australia.
13 September 2023: Lunch with the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta Congregation Leadership Team

On 13 September, our Chair, Dr Ricki Jeffery, Board Director, Steven Rubic and CEO, John Leahy, visited the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta (SOMP) to meet with and have lunch with the SOMP Congregation Leadership Team, Sr Patricia Bolster rsm, Sr Margaret Hinchey rsm, and Sr Margaret Sheppard rsm. The Congregation Leader, Sr Margaret Jones, was an apology for the lunch as she was interstate.
13 September 2023: National Catholic Education Commission Annual Leaders Forum
Canberra
Prof Lee Anne Perry represented the Mercy Partners Board at the National Catholic Education Commission’s Annual Leaders Forum in Canberra on 13 September 2023.
The Forum provided an opportunity for Catholic education directors, state and territory commissioners, Religious Institutes and Ministerial PJP School Authorities, and principal and parent associations to come together in a unified way to discuss national strategic priorities. The Forum also provided an opportunity to engage with and advocate the NCEC’s message and mission to government, while demonstrating a strength of purpose and commitment to mission.

7, 8, 12, 13, 14 and 15 September 2023: 2023 Mater Long Service Awards
Across Queensland
Representatives from the Mercy Partners Board recently travelled around Queensland to attend the Mater’s 2023 Long Service Awards. These event recognised and celebrated the contribution and commitment of Mater staff to their mission. This year the Mater recognised 10 years plus years’ service for 795 staff state-wide.
The Long Service Awards provide Mater with the opportunity to acknowledge many of their Mater people across Queensland for their continued service to Mater and the wider community; for taking up the baton of compassionate care and service to others.
