Mercy Partners Annual Pastoral Care and Mission Leaders Gathering
Each year Mercy Partners hosts a Pastoral Care and Mission Leaders Gathering. This year on Friday 24 March we held the following three sessions:
- Catholic Identity workshop
- Networks and Communities – with guest speakers from the Romero Centre – Mengistu Hailu, Manager and Richard Langford, Head of Community and Corporate Relations
- Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) – with guest speakers Rev Dr Adam McIntosh, Associate Director of Mission: Pastoral Care (UnitingCare Queensland) who presented: “Remaining in Lament and Hope – A pastoral response for a Voluntary Assisted Dying pathway” and Paul Blom, Education Officer – Religious Education, Learning Services (Brisbane Catholic Education)
Preceding this event, attendees gathered for a Mission and Pastoral Care Leaders dinner. Thank you to all those who participated. It was a wonderful time of learning, sharing and connecting.
The Mater Brisbane – Official Blessing and Opening of Catherine’s House
On Thursday 23 March 2023 Mercy Partners was delighted to attend the official opening and blessing of Catherine’s House.

On Wednesday 22 March 2023 Mercy Partners Director of Formation, Dr Caroline Thompson met with the Mater Communications team and conducted a workshop on Governance and Church communication protocols.
AMPJP Mission Committee Meeting
On 15-16 March 2023 Mercy Partners Director of Formation, Dr Caroline Thompson attended the AMPJP Mission Committee meeting in North Sydney with fellow Committee members.
